Greetings from the white wonderland of Bucharest, Romania! It was snowing when I arrived, but we prayed it away. God graciously granted favor and it stopped snowing. Now we are praying it will be sunshine and clear by Thursday. Will you pray, too?
So many answered prayers!
My bags all arrived safely and within weight range!
Lufthansa did not charge me for my second checked bag!
All the workbooks, extra DVD sets, and my tub of conference materials are on their way from Timisoara right now. Beni will arrive in the morning around 7:00PM our time. Please pray for safe travel and clear weather for him.
We arrived at Frank and Diane’s home straight from the airport, and I took off my shoes as is the custom in Romania. I went upstairs in my stocking feet, but didn’t take the time to dig through my suitcases for my rubber-soled slippers. Not a good decision. Coming downstairs, I promptly slid off one step and fell down a few more and ungracefully descended to the bottom. I am deeply grateful that it was only my wounded pride and a few bad bruises which resulted instead of some major back problem or broken limb.
We had a wonderful dinner of taco salad and Pepsi. Diane is a wonderful cook and has done an absolutely fabulous job coordinating the Friday night and Saturday events. She has quite a lovely meal planned for all the ladies on Saturday at a very minimal cost. I love women who are geniuses in the kitchen!
Anyway, it is late, and I need to still work on some things tonight. I didn’t get any sleep on the planes, but hope to sleep tonight.
You absolutely must check back tomorrow night for the account of a phone call I received while still at the airport in Houston!! Don’t want to take any more time writing tonight, but I promise you, you will really enjoy hearing how the Lord divinely orchestrated something beautiful today. Until then, much love to you all and thanks so much for your prayers. I would love to hear back from you on this blog or you can email me at carsoncp@consolidated.net
I’ve tried for the past 15 minutes to upload a picture, but have not succeeded. Sooooo, tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow.
Good night to all.
