Just when you think you are on course in a particular direction, sometimes your plans change. Sometimes because of things out of our control. Like tonight, for instance. We were all dressed and ready to go to church at the Rock Church. We patiently waited for our ride with Liviu (who lives just down the street), but got a phone call about 10 minutes to the start time for church. Yep, you guessed it – when the keys to his van cannot be found, you just stay home – right? No way, Jose! Not when you are hungry and don’t have food in the kitchen. You change into flat sandals again, jeans and a tank top to battle the heat. Scott and I headed out to find a local village market (Carolyn flew out this morning early) and see what we could get for dinner.

We wandered and wandered and wandered some more. Scott has stayed at this International Bible Society quite a few times, but for some reason, couldn’t find the right street. Eventually, I went up to a guy in his yard and asked directions. Between Scott and I, we figured out what to say. Woo-hoo! Rumineste is getting better for both of us. Scott does much better than me, though.

We found the market and found just what we wanted: salami, two types of cheese, Lays BBQ chips, fresh tomato, COLD COKE, COLD Bitter Lemon (Schwepps), grapefruit for breakfast, cherry juice for breakfast to go along with our yogurt and granola.

We had a feast. See the picture below. Tons of salt, though, so I hope my ankles won’t swell anymore. Been having a problem with that. Bummer.

We slept well last night and we both crashed for a nap. Sleep has come when we really needed to recharge our batteries.

Earlier today as I washed up the breakfast dishes, a wonderful lady named Debby knocked on the door. We met via email when she inquired about the Beth Moore Bible study conference. She owns and ran the Christian school many years which is next door to Liviu and Mary Neagoe’s compound – Apa Vietii. Debby is an American married to a Romanian. She and her husband have one son in high school who will be entering his senior year this next year. I pray the Lord will give Debby and I more time to grow in our friendship.

Tomorrow, Scott and I will go with Debby into Timisoara for a bit of shopping, and a couple of stops I need to make. Then we will meet up with Daniel again near the Timisoara Square where the revolution began. I think we will eat at the McDonald’s where we will meet. Believe it or not, the food is pretty good compared to the US.

I will be meeting with the TV production company tomorrow as well. I will be glad to get that behind me. Please continue to pray for this project’s completion. Because the quality of the work for the translation, DVD production and printing is on track to be very, very good, I am encouraged in spite of the delays.

The pictures of the grass and flowers, etc. are taken from my bedroom doore and the walkway here at the International Bible Society. It is a quaint building, yet very accommodating. When I showed up, they just pulled out another metal bed, a mattress, a sleeping bag, a pillow and “ta-da” I am all set. The only thing lacking was cooler air. I swiftly remedied that when I bought a nice big strong wonderful fan. Best $30 I think I have spent in awhile. Worth EVERY penny.

So, I am now over 1/2 way through my trip and feel full to overflowing. I am so thankful the Lord continues to keep me at peace about everything. I am so enjoying the people here and am really excited about my return trip in October.

Gotta close up shop now. Have a fabulous weekend!!
